Terms And Conditions
Carpet Cleaning Brent Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Carpet Cleaning Brent provides carpet, rug, upholstery, and related cleaning services to residential and commercial customers within its service area. By making a booking, accepting a quotation, or allowing our operatives to carry out any work, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
1. Definitions
In these Terms and Conditions, the following definitions apply.
Client means the person, company, or organisation booking or receiving the services.
Company means Carpet Cleaning Brent, the provider of the services.
Services means any carpet, rug, upholstery, fabric, or floor cleaning service, and any additional services agreed in writing between the Client and the Company.
Operative means any employee, contractor, or representative of the Company who performs the Services.
Premises means the property or location where the Services are to be carried out.
2. Scope of Services
The Company provides carpet, rug, upholstery, and related cleaning services to domestic and commercial Clients. The specific Services to be provided will be agreed at the time of booking or as set out in a written quotation or confirmation.
The Company reserves the right to refuse to provide Services where it reasonably considers that the work requested is unsafe, inappropriate for the materials involved, outside the reasonable competence of the Company, or may cause damage to the Premises or contents.
Any estimated time required to complete the Services is provided as a guide only and does not form a contractual obligation. Time is not of the essence unless explicitly agreed in writing.
3. Booking Process
Bookings may be made by the Client by telephone or through the Companys accepted booking channels. All bookings are subject to availability and to acceptance by the Company.
At the time of booking, the Client must provide accurate details of the Premises, the nature and size of the areas or items to be cleaned, the type of flooring or fabrics, and any known stains, damage, or special conditions. The Company reserves the right to adjust any quotation or refuse the booking if information provided is incomplete or inaccurate.
The Company may provide an estimated quote based on information supplied by the Client. The final price may vary if the actual work required differs from the description given at the time of booking. Any material change in price will be discussed with the Client before work commences or as soon as reasonably practicable.
A booking will be deemed confirmed when the Company issues a booking confirmation verbally or in writing, and where required, when any deposit or pre-payment has been received.
4. Access to the Premises
The Client is responsible for providing safe and reasonable access to the Premises at the agreed date and time. The Client must ensure that someone with authority to grant access is present at the Premises or that arrangements are made for the Operative to enter.
If the Operatives are unable to gain access, or if access is delayed by more than 20 minutes beyond the agreed start time, the Company may treat the appointment as a late cancellation and apply the relevant cancellation fee as set out in these Terms and Conditions.
The Client must ensure that all areas to be cleaned are reasonably clear of fragile items, personal belongings, and excessive clutter. The Company accepts no liability for damage to items left in areas being cleaned that should reasonably have been removed by the Client.
5. Client Responsibilities
The Client is responsible for
Ensuring that electricity, running water, and adequate lighting are available at the Premises during the appointment.
Informing the Company of any known defects, wear, previous damage, loose fittings, or special requirements relating to carpets, rugs, upholstery, or flooring.
Notifying the Operative of any alarms, security systems, or restrictions that may affect access or the performance of the Services.
Keeping children, pets, and vulnerable persons away from the areas where cleaning is being carried out until those areas are completely dry and safe.
The Client must not request or induce any Operative to undertake work outside the agreed Services or contrary to these Terms and Conditions.
6. Pricing and Quotations
All prices are quoted in pounds sterling and, unless expressly stated otherwise, are exclusive of any applicable taxes which shall be added at the prevailing rate where required by law.
Quotations may be provided as fixed prices for specified items or as estimates based on the information supplied. The Company reserves the right to revise quotations where
The condition, size, or number of items differs from that described by the Client.
Additional work is requested by the Client on the day of the appointment.
Access difficulties or health and safety concerns increase the time or complexity of the work.
Any variation to the quotation will be agreed with the Client before the additional work is undertaken whenever reasonably possible.
7. Payments and Charges
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment is due immediately upon completion of the Services. The Company accepts the methods of payment notified to the Client at the time of booking.
For certain bookings, particularly larger commercial jobs or multiple property visits, the Company may require a deposit or full pre-payment prior to the appointment. The booking is not confirmed until such payment has been received.
If payment is not made when due, the Company reserves the right to charge reasonable interest and administrative costs associated with the collection of overdue amounts. In addition, the Company may suspend further Services until all outstanding sums are paid in full.
Any parking charges, congestion charges, or access fees incurred in order to carry out the Services may be added to the final invoice where these were not included in the initial quotation.
8. Cancellations, Rescheduling, and No-Show
The Client may cancel or reschedule an appointment by giving the Company reasonable notice. Unless otherwise stated at the time of booking, the following will normally apply.
If the Client cancels or requests to reschedule with at least 24 hours notice before the scheduled start time, no cancellation fee will be charged and any deposit already paid may be applied to a new appointment or refunded at the Companys discretion.
If the Client cancels or requests to reschedule with less than 24 hours notice, the Company reserves the right to charge a late cancellation fee, which may be up to 50 percent of the quoted price or a reasonable minimum call-out fee, whichever is higher.
If the Client fails to provide access to the Premises at the agreed time, or if the Operative is unable to proceed due to circumstances within the Clients control, this may be treated as a late cancellation and charged accordingly.
The Company reserves the right to cancel or reschedule an appointment due to operational reasons, staff illness, adverse weather, unsafe conditions, or events beyond its reasonable control. In such cases, the Company will endeavour to provide as much notice as practicable and to offer an alternative appointment. The Company shall not be liable for any indirect loss or costs arising from such cancellation or rescheduling.
9. Service Standards and Limitations
The Company aims to deliver Services with reasonable skill and care and to a standard consistent with professional carpet and upholstery cleaning practices.
However, the Client acknowledges that
Permanent stains, wear, discolouration, dye instability, or damage existing prior to cleaning may not be removed and may sometimes be more visible after cleaning.
Exact colour matching, full restoration, or return to original condition cannot be guaranteed.
Drying times will vary depending on ventilation, temperature, humidity, and the type of fabric or carpet, and the Company cannot guarantee specific drying times.
The Client should follow any aftercare advice provided by the Operative, including keeping areas well ventilated and avoiding use of cleaned items until fully dry.
10. Damage, Liability, and Insurance
The Company will take reasonable care when providing the Services. If damage is caused by the negligence of the Company or its Operatives, the Company will, at its discretion, repair the damage, pay for the reasonable cost of repair, or compensate the Client for the fair value of the damaged item, having regard to age, condition, and wear.
The Company shall not be liable for
Any pre-existing damage, defects, or weaknesses in carpets, rugs, upholstery, flooring, or other surfaces, including wear, fading, loose seams, or colour run.
Any damage arising from misleading, incomplete, or inaccurate information provided by the Client.
Any indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit, loss of business, or loss of opportunity, arising out of or in connection with the Services.
Minor cosmetic damage that is commensurate with the age and condition of the item and that could not reasonably have been avoided.
The Company maintains appropriate liability insurance as required by law. Any claim for damage or loss must be notified to the Company in writing as soon as possible and in any event within 48 hours of completion of the Services, together with reasonable evidence of the damage.
11. Waste, Environmental, and Health Regulations
The Company will handle cleaning solutions, wastewater, and any associated waste in accordance with applicable UK waste management, environmental, and health and safety regulations.
Where possible, wastewater will be disposed of via appropriate drainage systems at the Premises or other lawful facilities. The Client agrees to permit the Operative to use standard drainage points such as toilets, sinks, or outdoor drains for this purpose, provided this is safe and reasonable.
The Client must inform the Company of any restrictions, private drainage systems, or environmental concerns at the Premises that may affect waste disposal. If disposal on site is not appropriate, the Company will seek an alternative lawful method, which may incur additional charges to be agreed with the Client.
The Company uses cleaning products selected for effectiveness and safety. Safety data sheets are available on request where required. The Client is responsible for notifying the Company of any allergies, sensitivities, or health conditions that may be affected by cleaning products or processes.
12. Health and Safety
The Company will take reasonable steps to ensure that Services are provided safely and in compliance with applicable health and safety laws.
The Client must not enter or allow others to enter areas where cleaning is in progress if doing so would create a safety risk. Recently cleaned carpets and floors may be damp and slippery and should be used with caution.
The Client agrees to inform the Operative of any hazards at the Premises, including loose flooring, trailing cables, poor lighting, or restricted access that may pose a risk to persons or property.
13. Complaints and Service Issues
If the Client is dissatisfied with any aspect of the Services, they must notify the Company as soon as reasonably possible, and in any event within 48 hours of completion, explaining the nature of the issue.
The Company may arrange a revisit to inspect the work and, where appropriate, attempt to rectify any shortcomings. The Companys liability in respect of any service issue will be limited to providing a further clean of the affected area or a partial refund, at the Companys discretion.
14. Privacy and Data Protection
The Company will collect and use personal data about the Client only for the purpose of providing the Services, handling payments, and managing its relationship with the Client. The Company will take reasonable steps to keep such data secure and to comply with applicable UK data protection laws.
The Client agrees that their contact details may be used for necessary communication about bookings, invoices, and service updates. The Client may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their personal data where permitted by law.
15. Amendments to Terms
The Company may update or amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The version in force at the time of the Clients booking will apply to that booking. Continued use of the Companys Services following any update to the Terms and Conditions constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or with the provision of the Services, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
The parties agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or their subject matter.
17. Severability
If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court or competent authority, that provision shall be deemed modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid, legal, and enforceable, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
18. Entire Agreement
These Terms and Conditions, together with any written quotation or booking confirmation provided by the Company, constitute the entire agreement between the Client and the Company in relation to the Services and supersede any prior understandings, representations, or agreements, whether oral or written.
